Hello and welcome!

I’m Catherine, a CERTIFIED PERINATAL NUTRITION EXPERT, BIRTH doula and certifying childbirth educator currently based in tenerife, spain but available worldwide virtually.

I am dedicated to empowering mothers throughout their pregnancy journeys. Originally from Canada, I now live in Tenerife, Spain, with my husband, our two kids, and our dog, Solo.

Offering my services virtually to clients around the globe, I specialize in supporting expat families navigating childbirth in unfamiliar environments. I also provide limited in-person services for clients in the Ottawa-Gatineau region during the summer months. My passion is helping parents feel confident and informed as they prepare for labor and delivery—especially when they are away from home.

In addition to comprehensive childbirth education, I incorporate nutrition expertise into my practice, emphasizing a food-based approach tailored to meet the unique needs of families at every stage of their perinatal journey. I am bilingual, providing my services in both French and English.

Whether you are a first-time parent or expanding your family while living abroad, I am here to help you create a positive and empowering birth experience that aligns with your values and preferences. Together, we will explore your options, address your concerns, and equip you with the knowledge and tools to thrive during this exciting chapter of your life.

I look forward to being part of your journey and helping you navigate the rewarding (and sometimes challenging) path of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood—even from afar!

  • A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional and physical support to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth. A virtual doula provides emotional support while also helping you make informed decisions about your pregnancy and birth. Virtual doulas can also train birthing persons and their partners to use various physical comfort measures that can be used in the labor and delivery process.

  • A midwife is a licensed medical professional who is responsible for the medical care of the mother and baby. A doula provides emotional and physical support to the mother but is not a medical provider. We are not trained to catch babies or make medical decisions on your behalf!

FAQs

  • Supporting your partner during postpartum can be done in several ways. Some strategies include helping with household tasks, taking care of baby, offering emotional support, or by encouraging self care.

  • Signs of labor include regular contractions, changes in the cervix, water breaking, bloody show, and increased vaginal discharge. These signs can indicate that labor is starting, but it’s important to note that every woman’s experience is different.

“Working with Catherine made us feel so much more confident navigating our pregnancy, labor experience, and newborn weeks as first time parents. The experience can be so overwhelming, but having such a kind and supportive person in your corner throughout the whole thing helps so much. Catherine made the classes fun, interesting, and it was really comfortable learning from her. Would highly recommend to anyone interesting in using a doula.”
